Missed Tryst

is a personalized detective novel that puts our couple in a hardboiled, film-noir detective novel where they’ve formed Gal and Guy Private Eye Agency.
Looking for some downtime from work-a-day stress, a romantic tryst at the Mystic Hotel in the metropolis of Capital City is all our couple wants. But upon arrival, their plan unravels when a series of mix-ups and botched meetings sends our couple down the road to danger, entangled in espionage, cut-throat deceit, and a secret that could threaten life on earth as we know it.
To get into this one, you’ll have to assume the roles of detectives. He is fashioned after the likes of gumshoe heroes Sam Spade from Dashiell Hammett’s Maltese Falcon, Phillip Marlowe in Raymond Chandler’s The Big Sleep, and Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer. Think Maddie Hayes (Cybill Shepherd) and David Addison (Bruce Willis) of TV’s Moonlighting.
There will be bumps, blood, bruises; male and female villains; cops and thugs; some rough language; and action, intrigue and romance.

WILD excerpt

Once safely in the lobby snack bar, Ann was directed to a booth where she ordered a cup of coffee. She took the cell phone out of her purse and placed it on the table. She thought of calling Jodee but decided against it. When her coffee arrived she reached for it, took a sip, let out a long sigh and allowed her mind to drift to that memorable night in Yorkville after they had started the detective agency.
That wonderful night, she and John had had dinner at their favorite restaurant, each ordering their favorite entree off the menu. They accompanied the meal with two bottles of her favorite wine because she liked the bottle it came in. She had ordered coffee with cream and sugar to take back home; they also took the unfinished second bottle of wine so she could put a candle in it later after the wine was gone.
Back home, he had put on their favorite Jimmy Buffett CD, took her by the hand, and they began to dance. She felt the heat coming from his body, and as she inhaled, his fragrance - Eternity - made her swoon.
As if reading her mind, John had moved his fingers through her blonde hair and said, “Honey, I love it when you wear Tresor. It always reminds me how totally sexy you are.”
Moving slowly together on the improvised dance floor, John began kissing her neck, her ears, then her lips, softly so there was barely a hint of contact. Still the strength that came from him, his animal magnetism, made her crave him. Her lips moved to his, making full contact. She sucked on his lips and moved her tongue playfully to touch his. “Ummm,” she uttered, running her hands up his back and into his black hair. “You are making me so hot.”
“Tell me about it. I just want to pull those clothes off of you and...” John began, but Ann put her index finger to his mouth. Sensuously, she backed away, swaying her hips and moving her arms to the music. “I’m not going to tell you when I can show you.”
He was mesmerized, frozen by her erotic performance. He could not take his eyes off of her. How she moved, how her fingers slid through her hair, how her blue eyes sparked and seemed to say, “I’m yours.”
Ann was enjoying herself. She liked it when she could turn him on; it turned her on. With a seductive smile, she began to undress in time to the music as he stood and watched. She watched him, too, and even in the dim light could see his evident arousal growing, but it pleased her that he was patient, wanting to see the entire performance. Ann had seen him in many situations in the 20 years they had been together. She had seen him angry, seem him fight, and seen him badger an opponent, but she knew him well enough to know that he could be patient when the time was right. And now the time was right.
