Sitting on the side of the bed, John chuckled, "Check this out," as he switched on the beam to the flashlight he found on the nightstand. "Think they're trying to tell us something?" As if brought on by his words, the lights flickered and the picture on the TV set went to snow.
"Guess that's what we're in for, a snowy night," Ann acknowledged to the screen before she hit the off button on the remote. She motioned to a pair of wall sconces holding candles. "Maybe we should light them."
"If we need to," he said while swinging his legs onto the bed and then under the covers. "We're fine for now." He reached to switch off the bedlamp. A heavy gust of wind shook the building.
     "Feel that?" she asked.
"Hard to tell whether it's the wind howling or a pack of wolves." John pulled the thick down comforter up to his neck and slid closer to Ann.
"Whoa, ice-cube feet," she yelped as she jerked her legs back. "Keep those to yourself 'til they get warmed up."
He intentionally pulled her to him and wrapped his legs around hers, placing his feet on her ankles and calves. "Oh, Honey, warm me up. I'd do it for you."
"Oooh, they're so cold." Ann squirmed to get away, but he had a firm hold on her. To loosen his control, she slid her hand down his side, tickling as she went. When John reacted slightly, she immediately ran her fingers to his lower stomach, causing him to push off just enough for her to stretch her right leg out straight and move her knee up between his legs, away from the icy feet. Feeling the warmth there, she said, "Ohh, that's better."
John knew he was stronger, knew he could maneuver to regain the upper hand, but he wasn't stupid. The new warmth he encountered was much more to his liking. "Yeah, that does feel better." He closed his thighs around her leg and arched his back so her soft body was firmly tucked beside his. He bent his head down to nibble at her shoulder.
"Ooo-oooh," she exhaled, "that gives me goose bumps. Warm me up."

"Just what I was thinking. I like that new red nightshirt," he said as he pushed it down and trailed his lips to her neck. His right hand was around and under her shoulder. He moved his left hand up over her stomach and to her breasts, gently rubbing under and then across them, pausing to caress her nipples by slowly tracing around them.
"Oh, yeah, it's getting warmer," Ann whispered. "It's getting warmer."
"Sure is." John could feel the heat welling up inside. He lowered his hand and ran it in a circular motion around her stomach. He inhaled, fully expanding his chest in doing so, and Obsession filled his nose. "That smell, ummm, I like it so much," he breathed into her ear.
"Oh yeah, it's getting hotter, like the tropics." Her hand, flat on his stomach, went lower, searching for his hot spot. "Hey, Darling, what's going on down here?"
     "Hurricane," he snickered.
"Feels more like a himicane," she shot back.
"It's sure not the South Pole," he replied. He positioned the palm of his hand in her corresponding area,
     "What's this? Pretty hot here."
"Might have to get rid of these covers pretty soon." She moved her hand in a short kneading motion. "Feel the temperature rising?"
"That's not just the temperature, Honey." John moved his hips back to allow for needed room.
"Wow," he said slowly, deeply, appreciatively, "that feels soooo gooood." He rocked his head on her shoulder. His fingers gently explored her desire. He felt her thighs relax, felt a wave of heat, felt her lift her body.
     "More."
And it was John's pleasure to give her pleasure. With his body, with his mind, with his soul, with everything he had learned about her likes, needs, and passion in the 20 years he had known her, he gave her everything she wanted, and she did the same for him.
"More," Ann murmured. More he gave, until she shuddered, "Enough." They had generated a heat only two people in love can know, and the sweat it caused came from them freely and purely and mingled together till they had to throw back the comforter to cool off. "John, it's so good to be with you, to hold you, to make love with you." She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him. "I feel the same way," he said taking a deep breath. "I do love you."
"And I you. I love to share your bed and sleep with you, to be warm with you."
"And to warm my cold feet?" John asked, smiling in the dark.
   Ann
replied as she snuggled into his arms, "To warm your cold feet."

Darling." John spoke softly. Again she noted how he could touch her with his words, and she heaved a sigh. It had been quite a day. It looked like it would be quite a night. "Your love makes me so warm," John went on. Ann thought to herself that this vacation was turning out great. John was thinking the same. "John, it's so good to be with you, to hold you, to make love with you." She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him. His lips met hers with the passion of a man in love. "I feel the same way," he said taking a deep breath. "I do love you."
